Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how to monitor the stability of the price of basic necessities during the COVID-19 Pandemic in Pekanbaru and what are the inhibiting factors. This study used qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques were observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises in Riau Province in terms of monitoring the stability of prices for basic necessities is still not optimal. This is because the implementation of these monitoring activities is still not in accordance with the implementation technical instructions that have been set. The inhibiting factor is the lack of human resources for the implementation of activities and also the lack of participation of traders as informants for monitoring the prices of basic necessities.
