Abstract

In the era of globalization, tourism is one of the most important sectors in economic development, especially the people's economy. The pattern of the Indonesian tourism order has shown a very significant change. It needs to be realized that the City Government in this case plays an important role in developing a tourist attraction and preserving cultural and historical heritage. In this case, what is meant is a strategy related to the development of the tourist object of the Pulau Penyengat Mosque in Tanjungpinang City so that it can maintain human values ​​and shared heritage so that it can attract people to come to visit. The purpose of this research is to find out the strategy carried out by the tourism agency in tourism development, especially the Penyengat Island Mosque. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The results of this research indicate that the strategies implemented are still not optimal and the government and local community are not paying attention to the management of tourist objects. The conclusion in this study is that the planned work program has not been implemented properly and the limited human resources in managing tourism. Suggestions in this study are that the government, especially the tourism office, must re-evaluate the management and development of Tanjungpinang City tourism and increase cooperation in the tourism sector to increase the accessibility of Tanjungpinang City Tourism.
